Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun
Responding to a question on whether China would make diplomatic efforts to stop Israel-Iran conflict, and as Iran is a member of both the SCO and BRICS, whether these organizations would undertake related multilateral efforts, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that since the outbreak of the conflict, China has maintained communication with Iran, Israel, and other relevant parties to promote ceasefire and de-escalation of the situation. Relevant international organizations have also issued statements on the current situation, Guo said.
At a regular press briefing on Tuesday, Guo emphasized that the use of force cannot bring lasting peace. Any international disputes must be resolved through dialogue and consultation. Only by upholding the concept of common security can the legitimate concerns of all parties be fundamentally addressed.
"China will continue to strengthen communication with relevant parties, promote peace talks, and prevent further turmoil of the regional situation," Guo stressed.
